crypticdrew An excellent mix of Neurosis-esque atmosphere with the extremity of death metal. Cendiate advertises itself as a discordant project, but there is just enough subtle melody to make the riffs memorable. The atmospheric intro was a nice touch, and even the relatively aggressive riffs manage to convey introspection. Not your typical death metal. Favorite track: Ires Sore.

Created during the height of 2020s delirium.

This album is an examination of self, the unknown spaces between sanctuary and uncertainty, and what we become when trapped between the two. A year and a half of anxiety, phobias, dissociation, and confusion.

When this EP started, it was supposed to be a simple collection of songs. Eventually and all too abruptly, the world dramatically shifted, and so did the musical landscape I was traversing. I found myself in an endless loop of thought, action, and time. Wandering in a sort of limbo, not here but not there. Days seemed to both stretch and contort, things that were familiar became alien as silence became both blanket and terror. It was with this experience that “An Aberrant Hollow”, was born.

The things we create to perceive and define the world around us
are based on subjectivity. Reality is an ever shifting amalgamation of definitions and perspectives, and the mechanisms we fashion can eventually become shackles, and nooses, if left to grow.

Ce qui saute aux yeux, c'est le soin apporté à la dimension technique : Theophonos créé un ensemble d'une cohésion parfaite et utilise des jeux d'échos avec des riffs dévastateurs qui vont et reviennent de manière différente ("Kathodos"/"Anodos", première et septième pistes, etc.).
